Editor’s welcome (Issue 2)

Reading Time: 3 minutes
Issue 1

Welcome to Issue 2 of Mosaic & Glass. It’s a pleasure to produce this magazine and bring together just some of the stories from the vibrant world of mosaic and glass.

Thank you to those of you who let us know you enjoyed reading Issue 1 – we’re happy to hear that it was an inspirational read and we appreciate you taking the time to get in touch. Many of you also entered, and voted in, the readers’ competition – and congratulations to Corinna Barrell on winning the readers’ votes with her piece King of the River!

With special features on exterior mosaic and glass art in Issue 2, there’s a lot to enjoy. The special features include art by Debora Aldo, Alexander Beleschenko, Oliver Budd, Kaye Gilhooly, Maggy Howarth, Isidora Paz Lopez, Maud Milton, Helen Nock, Frances Taylor, Coralie Turpin, Sunny Wieler and Wilma Wyss.

Plus we have our usual range of regular items, including artist spotlights, inspiration, exhibitions, technical tips and a competition. These artists and their art are also featured: Chris Beckett, Tim Cunliffe, Elena Fleury-Rojo, Pam Givens, Joanna Kessel, Rachel Mulligan and Barb Uhlenbruch.

Once again we’ve had a great team of contributors writing for you, from our professional writers and journalists to mosaic and glass artists across the world – thank you all.

The eagle-eyed among you may have noticed that there’s a mixture of American and UK English in the editorial. There’s also a mix of referring to artists by first names or surnames. All of this lets individual styles, nationalities and locations shine through.

If you’d like to write for Issue 3 of Mosaic & Glass or you have any ideas for what you’d like to read, please email me at rhonaduffy@mosaicandglass.com. The special features will focus on business and money angles. I’m looking forward to working with contributors to bring you some more rich editorial on these topics.

Finally, a big thank you to all of our readers and advertisers. There are some great discounts for you to enjoy on mosaic and glass supplies. Enjoy the read!
