The tiles of Mexico

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Lorinda Tisdell, who relocated from the US to Ajijic in Mexico, enjoys taking photos of the brightly painted and tiled buildings there and in the surrounding villages and towns. She matches up her pictures with inspirational quotes on her Instagram page. Once again, we asked her to create a selection for Mosaic & Glass readers and here they are. Enjoy!

“Mighty is geometry; joined with art, resistless.” Euripides

“It’s the beauty within us that makes it possible for us to recognize the beauty around us. The question is not what you look at but what you see.”  Henry David Thoreaur

“Orange is red brought nearer to humanity by yellow.” Wassily Kandinsky

“People only see what they are prepared to see. If you look for what is good and what you can be grateful for, you will find it everywhere.” Ralph Waldo Emerson

“Night is a curious child, wandering between earth and sky, creeping in windows and doors, daubing the entire neighborhood with purple paint.” Frank Marshall Davis

“Colors are forces, radiant energies that affect us positively or negatively, whether we are aware of it or not.”  Johannes Itten
